The South Sound Studio Tour is a family friendly, free self-guided tour throughout Olympia, Tumwater and Lacey. Visitors can meet the artists, buy original artworks, learn about how and where artists create their work!

Visitor FAQs

  • May 30-31, 2026 from 11am-4pm each day. 

  • Unfortunately, at this time there is no shuttle bus, however Intercity Transit is free to the public and has routes that would make a number of studios only a short walk from a bus stop.

  • If you want to purchase art from artists, you can use cash, check or credit card. Some studios may have Venmo or Paypal options.

  • Printed brochure booklets with the studio tour map will be distributed centrally at the Olympia Farmers Market in downtown Olympia. Brochures will also be available for the public at each participating studio. You will be able to find the tour map as well as additional studio/artist information on our website.

  • Some studios are accessible, but many are not. Accessible studios will be indicated on the tour maps.

  • Yes, but small children should be carefully supervised by their parents.

  • Many studios are dog-friendly, but you should always ask individual artists if dogs are allowed inside their studio.

  • The South Sound Studio Tour Foundation consists of 6 board members who volunteer their time and effort to organize and maintain the tour. See more about the board members here
